OR
a crew of people helping you, it’s easy to get your mini homestead started in 2021.
But what do you do IF you don’t have a lot of money, Or anybody to help you out??
A few months ago. I started in the same place as you are now. “I need to start growing at home!!
After building my GROWSPACE I realized that I may have a few solutions for other people in the same spot.
So if you are a Homesteader, a Kitchen Gardener, a Market Gardener an Urban Farmer or you want to be. I may have a few things that may want to check out.
I am going to show you 5 resourceful ways that I used to get my homestead started and that may work for you.
1) RAISED BED PLANTERS
“SAY HELLO TO MY PLANTER FRIENDS…”
Save on high lumber cost by building your Raised Bed container garden out of reclaimed supplies. You can build these amazingly low cost, easy to make & stylish metal raised bed planters. These planters are made from an INDUSTRIAL GRADE “cargo container/(trapezoidal) ” style metal for long lasting durability, THIS IS NOT the “wavy/continuous ripple” tin metal, it’s MUCH stronger than that!!
These planters have a Modern & Industrial look and can be painted and customized in many ways.
You can make them in (3) sizes 2’ x 2’ or 2’ x 4’ or 4’ x 4’ .
Check out this “Walk in” Raised Bed Garden that I made with (10) 2’ x 4’ size containers
The 3 modular sizes allow for YOUR optimum garden design! Build your raised bed garden perfectly just for your needs and space.
“Now you don’t need to be a Country Bumpkin, to start bending something…”
This is the best Greenhouse hoop bender that you can use and it’s made by you!!
1 shot bending, with no repositioning of the tubing for easy, accurate and consistent bends. Now this isn’t just a one trick bender, it has two. You can bend ROUND & SQUARE tubing.
Items #2-5 are made with my DIY Tubing Bender. (A hoop bender that bends a 10’ wide hoop could be used as well.)
2) GARDEN ARBOR
The dimensions of this arbor are 10.5’ - 12’ wide and 7’ tall allowing plenty of room to walk under and maintain climbing plants or vines to grow overhead. The arbor can be covered in “cattle panel” or similar to allow for easy trellis work for plant support.
You can make them as deep/LONG as you like, the one here is 20” long.
3) HIGH TUNNEL
You can use this “Catapillar tunnel” for a clear POLY cover, white overwintering cover or shade cloth cover for your plants.
You can also cover this with a heavy duty tarp/vinyl for an instant garage or “RUN IN” TYPE SHELTER. The width is 10.5” wide, you can make any length you like.
4) GREENHOUSE
Do you need a Greenhouse?? Do you need a easy to build, affordable and HEAVY DUTY greenhouse??.
Let me show you a PRACTICAL DIY GREENHOUSE
This is a true DIY greenhouse #NOCREW No crew needed (not like a “anna white” greenhouse)
No tricky cuts, truss building or HEAVY truss lifting!!
A very budget friendly greenhouse build with superior design, optimum features included & unmatched durability.
5) CORRAL COVER
Do you have animals that need a shelter?? You can easily make a corral cover that attaches to Corral Panels, for an animal shelter. The top could be coved in shade cloth or a solid vinyl “Billboard” tarp.
This could also be used for equipment storage or a portable garage.
The CORRAL COVER is made from a modified, standard style hoop and uses 1-5/8” end line clamps to attach to a cattle panel.
